Japan’s Hopeful Recover Through Cultural Export

Japans hope to help recover through comic books known as manga and animation to help pull the country out of recession. Prime Minister Taro Aso was promised a stimulus package of $US150 billion to boost Japans biggest cultural exports. At a conference he spoke at as he waved Asian magazine that featured Japanese pop stars. Cultural export such as magna, anime, music and live-action movie adaptions have been growing. Along with manga/anime, Hollywood’s live action movie  adaption from cult favorites, working with the original anime creators or associations, and western animation with Asian influences are on the way. For example “Avatar: The Last Airbender and the upcoming Wind & Fire by Silver*Studio. Who promised, Travis Ware, CEO; “Yes! The series will be “bloody” And it will a true detective story, which inclues, finding clues, suspects, and murder. The show will make the mature audience yell for next week’s show!” A western version of “Extreme” anime influence in all its violence and glory for the very mature audience.

Avatar Achievements

The Nickelodeon series “Avatar: The Last Airbender” is an anime influenced martial-arts adventure. The American-made series won the Peabody Award for Most Outstanding Achievements in Electronic Media. Noted for its “unusually complex characters and healthy respect for the consequences of warfare…”  Currently a live-action feature film is in production. By director M. Night Shyamalan. Release in 2010 by Paramount. Awards are administered at the University of Georgia by Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. By the sixteen panels. Members in academics, industry practitioners, television critics, and experts in the arts and culture. Nickelodeon’s series; “Avatar: The Last Airbender” animated show won an Emmy for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation in 2007; Sang-Jin Kim. Nominee in ‘07 Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming Less Than One Hour); Michael Dante DiMartino.

G.I. Joe: Resolute

Now on Adult Swim site is ten webisodes, Resolute is an anime-style animation based on the 80’s icon GI Joe, a Hasbro brand. Bringing back a newly upgrade version, with a darker, more realistic and amp graphic that was not available before.

  • Features continuous play, just hit the infinity icon.
  • TV broadcast premiered on April 25 at midnight .
  • Prepping for the live-action adaptation and video game of the classic.

On site is the Hasbro Monkeybar tv, hit that and be directed to other webisode including GI Joe: Real American Hero and The Lost Missions webisode. There is even a ol’ school Original Kung Fu Grip commercial.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Stream at FUNimation Today!

FUNimation Entertainment acquired rights of Bones’s Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood from Aniplex. Thursday; April 9 @ 10 am Fullmetal: Brotherhood to stream on FUNimation website. Dialogued in original Japanese accompanied in English subtitles. The episodes will also broadcast on other video-sharing partners with FUNimation. Based on Hiromu Arakawa manga and created by Japan Bone Studio. Followed up by the series, Fullmetal Alchemsist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa ended the series. Directed by Yasuhiro Irie (”Soul Eater”). Some of the original Japanese actors from the first FMA do not appear. Such as Roy Mustang now voiced by Shinichiro Miki (Descendants of Darkness”). Megumi Takamot (Mahou Sensei Negima!) to voice as Winrey Rockwell and Riza Hawkeye voiced by Fumiko Orikasa (Bleach).

Dante’s Inferno

Electronic Arts Dante’s Inferno and Media Starz Film Roman behind Dead Space: Downfall the animated film. Upcoming direct-to-DVD animated feature and game ship simultaneously in 2010. Follow Dante through the circle of nine Hell. Based on The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. Inferno is the first part of the Comedy. Commissioning multiple studios which implies the possibility of each studio animating each level of the nine Hells. Maybe similar to Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knight. Electronic Arts and Media Starz apdaption of the classical epic poem from the first part of The Divine Comedy follows the warrior, Dante and his journey through Hell.
