Filipino writer Carmelo Juinio sumitted his entry to the 6th Animax Award, ‘07. The first scriptwriting contest to be held outside of Japan. Gregorty Ho, vice president and general manager of Animax Asia said, “Carmelo’s story was so compelling that we could not bear to let it go to waste. Animax is very pleased to have turned his dream into reality with LaMB. And with it we are very proud to have made Animax’s first ever original animation production.”. Juinio did not won the grand prize, but his entry was a regional winner. That prize was offered to Takane’s Bike by Hayato Takamaga. Judges were so impressed it was dedcided as Animax’s first ever original animation production. Voice talents from boy band FA (JVKV), Vanness Wu (Disney/Pixar Cars), both English and Mandarin dubs. As the Protagonist, Dr. Jack Griswold. A first for Wu at English voice acting. Hong Kong actress Josie Ho (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li) for both English and Cantonese dubs. Also on board is the international bands Click Five, America’s pop/alt-rock and French-Candian pop punk, Simple Plan. Watch out for the animated Simple Plan. Singapore’s Peach Blossom Media worked with Animax on animation and production. Along with Singapore’s Imaginary Friends Studio (DC Comics, Electronic Arts, WOW trading card) concepts art for LaMB’s and its graphic novel/web manga. Director Thomas Chou, Ryosuke Tei as project consultant, and Yasufumi Soejima as storyboard artist. LaMB’s animation is a blend of Flash (2D) animation and 3D animation to create its unique visual style.
